    Mental Health Services

Connection, Support, and a Place to Talk.

    Mental Health Services

You don't have to navigate this alone

Military life can bring experiences and challenges that are difficult to navigate alone. Deployments, transitions, family changes, career uncertainty, loss, stress, and the adjustment to civilian life can affect both the individual who served and the people who supported them along the way. MilVet Transitions believes that asking for support should be simple, welcoming, and accessible.

Through our partnership with Cynthia Gray and Gray Matter Collective, MilVet Transitions connects qualified military-affiliated individuals and families with professional mental health services in a supportive and confidential environment. This program is free for all qualified military-affiliated Service Members, Families, and Veterans.

    How the Program Works

Qualified participants referred through MilVet Transitions may receive:

    • Up to six individual therapy sessions
    • Program sessions are intended to be completed within approximately three months
    • In-person or telehealth appointments, based on individual needs and availability
    • Professional mental health support provided by Cynthia Gray / Gray Matter Collective
    • Continued connection to MilVet Transitions' programs, resources, peer support, and community opportunities

There is no cost to qualified participants for the six-session MilVet Transitions program.

Her approach gives participants an opportunity to talk through challenges, develop healthy ways of managing stress, strengthen personal well-being, and identify meaningful steps forward.

Whether someone is navigating military transition, family stress, relationship concerns, difficult experiences, or simply feels that it is time to talk with someone, the goal is to provide a welcoming place to begin.

    Six Sessions. One Starting Point.

Mental health support does not have to begin with a crisis

Sometimes it begins with recognizing that something has changed. Sometimes it is stress, difficulty sleeping, challenges at home, adjusting after military service, feeling disconnected, or simply wanting a confidential place to talk. The six-session structure provides participants with an opportunity to establish a relationship with a mental health professional, identify concerns and goals, and begin working toward greater well-being. Every person's experience is different — Cynthia Gray works directly with each participant to determine what support is appropriate for their individual needs.

    Your Privacy Matters

MilVet Transitions helps connect participants to the program, but your counseling relationship is with Cynthia Gray and Gray Matter Collective. Your personal counseling conversations, treatment information, and clinical information remain confidential. MilVet Transitions does not receive information about what you discuss during your sessions unless you specifically authorize it. We want participants to feel comfortable seeking support knowing that their privacy is respected.

    More Than a Referral

MilVet Transitions' role does not end when we connect someone with counseling. Participants can remain connected with MilVet Transitions through peer support, resource navigation, outdoor recreation, wellness activities, community events, and other programs designed to strengthen connection among Service Members, Veterans, and military families. Professional mental health support can be one part of a larger network of connection, community, and self-care.
